Numerical Simulation of Flow Past Circular Cylinder Based on Overset Grid Method

Abstract Based on overset grid method, the problems about flow past circular cylinder were numerically studied, which include around a single at Reynolds number Re=100 and Re=200, two tandem cylinders Re=200 dimensionless distance g * =4, lateral oscillating Re=200. Overset method is effective in dealing with of over multi-body moving boundaries. This couple overlapping regions an arbitrary manner through field information updating acceptor cells one region suing its donor another region. The computed drag coefficient lift coefficients cylinder, vortical structure wake vortex shedding P+S mode are agreed well results previous experiment investigations numerical simulations.
